The project Purposes: 1. Eliminate economic and racial factors from the criminal justice system to ensure a fair system for all people. 2. Establish a public defender system for people of limited income. 3. Eliminate police and prosecutorial misconduct from the system. 4. Declare a moratorium on executions with the ultimate goal of abolishing the death penalty. 5. Provide humane conditions in jails and prisons. 6. Improve rehabilitation and educational programs, as well as effective reintegration programs, to reduce recidivism. 7. Improve victims services. Activities: Educate citizens; speak at community meetings; participate in marches and rallies; send out press releases and hold press conferences where appropriate.
