DESCRIPTION:The Don Greene Nature Park is a one acre new Harris County neighborhood pocket park left to the county and dedicated in honor of Don Greene’s memory. \nEvery third Saturday mark your calendars and join us for a work day that will include planting trees and starting a pocket prairie. We start at 9am and coffee will be provided. Bring a light breakfast snack to share. Bring a wheelbarrow\, if you have one\, garden gloves and shovel!

DESCRIPTION:WHY HOPE FARMS?\nThe typical American diet is contributing to obesity\, diabetes\, heart disease and other health problems\, which cost Americans for than $150 billion per year. Many of our neighbors are marooned in vast urban food deserts without access to fresh affordable food. Equitable access to healthy options will support parents in save their own health\, set their children on a path to a healthy future and put our food system on a more humane\, sustainable path. \nHOPE FARMS\nHope Farms is a project by Recipe for Success Foundation\, which was organized in 2005 to combat childhood obesity by changing the way children eat and making it easier for communities to provide healthier diets for our children. \nRecipe for Success Foundation’s Hope Farms project is made possible with funding from Wells Fargo\, United Healthcare Foundation\, the Clay Family\, Cigna Healthcare\, Walmart Foundation\, Simmons Foundation\, Boeing Employees\, Luby’s Fuddruckers\, Coca Cola Foundation\, Mahindra and The Mission Continues. \nJOIN THE MOVEMENT\nLike our Facebook page to stay up Hope Farm’s volunteer opportunities\, special events and open farm stand days.
