SUMMARY:National Hispanic Heritage Month:  A Class Apart
DESCRIPTION:The Center for the Healing of Racism celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month with an in-person screening of the film “A Class Apart” on Tuesday\, October 11\, 2022\, 6:00  to 8:00 PM (CDT) 3412 Crawford Street\, Houston 77004. Built around the landmark 1954 legal case Hernández v. Texas\, the film interweaves the stories of its central characters with a broader story of the civil rights movement.  It also brings to life the heroic post-World War II struggle of Mexican Americans fighting to dismantle the discrimination targeted against them.\n\nThe event is free and open to the public with donations encouraged. Registration required at:  https://www.centerhealingracism.org/event/a-class-apart-film-screening-hispanic-heritage-month/.  Free parking is available at Houston Community College lot #9 (Crawford & Holman).
