DESCRIPTION:Building Solid Relationships: At Home\, Work\, School\, Anywhere! is the title of this Nonviolent Communication event facilitated by CNVC Certified Trainer\, Bren Hardt\, long-time member of HPJC.  Staying present and grounded with skills to manage one’s emotions\, speaking with authenticity\, clarity and in a connecting (rather than disconnecting) way\, and listening with curiosity for both content and meaning are the skills of NVC – Nonviolent Communication.  NVC is a globally respected communication set of skills that is serving leaders around the world to be more effective and to build a culture of peace. Workshop will give you time to practice these valuable skills in pairs and small groups.  Offered 2 dates:  3/9 or 4/13.

DESCRIPTION:Showing up for Racial Justice (SURJ HTX) invites you to learn how to join and unite with the Native Original Tribe of Texas in a respectful way in the massive efforts to protect our state from environmental and political destruction. The Carrizo/Comecrudo Tribe is repopulating a network of frontline encampments on their ancient village sites\, protecting indigenous sacred sites\, resisting construction of the LNG (fracked gas) terminals and their source of pipelines for more fracked gas\, and educating people about the environmental devastation the Border Wall will cause.
