SUMMARY:Press Conference with Quannel X
DESCRIPTION:Good morning everyone\, It has come to light that the district clerk of Brazoria County Tx was tampering with jury pools to stack juries against people of color. The Tx Rangers started an investigation but once the investigation started\, she was allowed to retire. Her intentionally malicious actions have to lead to hundreds of not thousands of people of color going through trials with stacked juries and vertically zero chance of a fair trial. Hundreds of not thousands of people of color are now in prison\, with others having their kids taken away and fostered or adopted out to other families. The Tx Ranger investigating is complicit in this corruption\, Rhonda Barchak’s own attorney admitted that judges\, prosecutors\, attorneys etc all knew what she was doing and allowed her to do it. My cousin is a 32 year old black man who was sentenced to life for a murder he did not commit by an all white jury\, majority middle aged. Every bit of evidence cleared his name including dna and forensics present on the victims body and bed\, it was determined to not be his DNA. Geofencing and GPS determined that he was no where near the victims home when the crime occurred\, they even validated his alibi and it still only took that jury 2 hours to find him guilty. The next day\, they gave him life. They have been doing this to people for at least the last decade\, and if we don’t get the Feds to step in and take over the investigation\, it will be swept under the rug. Thomas Norsworthy\, the Tx Ranger’s investigator works down here and has close and personal friendships WITH the people he’s supposedly investigating. We CAN NOT let this go\, we can not let this be swept under the rug. We’re holding our 3rd press conference with Quanell X at the FBI headquarters in Houston Tx\, tomorrow\, Friday Nov 5 2021 at 12pm and we need EVERY ABLE BODIED PERSON to come stand with us\, to show a United front and let the Feds know that if they refuse to step in and do what’s right\, we will know they too\, are complicit. Please join us if you can

SUMMARY:A Climate Action Plan for Faith Communities & People of Faith
DESCRIPTION:Join Lisa Brenskelle\, Houston Climate Communication Coordinator for the Texas chapter of Interfaith Power & Light\, for a discussion on developing a Climate Action Plan for your faith community and for yourself. The City of Houston has a Climate Action Plan\, but how do you translate that to your faith community\, or to your household?  Clearly\, a city and a faith community or an individual household are very different.  However\, certain fundamental principles apply to all cases. This talk will highlight those principles\, as well tools available and steps to take in developing a climate action plan for both houses of worship & individuals.  Time for interactive Q&A with the speaker will be provided.  Please register for this talk on www.eventbrite.com at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/a-climate-action-plan-for-faith-communities-people-of-faith-tickets-183953689437. SUMMARY:Faithful Resilience: A Study on Climate Resilience for Faith Communities
DESCRIPTION:Faithful Resilience is a six-part weekly study on climate resilience for faith communities. The climate crisis has arrived. Faith communities must not only react\, but also prepare. Over the last decade\, hurricanes have intensified\, wildfires have burnt stronger\, and heat waves have baked our cities. These events can only be expected to get worse in the next decades. Most of our faith communities are not ready for these climate-driven disasters. Yet\, the communities who will be most threatened by climate change also have an opportunity to play a pivotal role in building resilience in their towns and cities. Whether a faith community has a large facility\, land\, social capital\, or something else\, those assets can be channeled into building climate resilience in preparation for the coming physical and spiritual storms of the climate crisis. Join us for a six-week exploration on Thursday evenings of how your house of worship/faith community can become a force for climate resilience for your community. SUMMARY:The Grammar of Creation: What is Nature Speaking to Us? (And Are We Listening?)
DESCRIPTION:Join Sr. Damien Marie Savino\, Dean of Science & Sustainability at Aquinas College and a Franciscan Sister of the Eucharist with a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering\, as she reflects on the ancient notion of the “grammar of creation” in light of contemporary ecological challenges. In many ways today\, creation is “groaning\, waiting to be made known” (Romans 8)\, waiting for humans to hear its cry. Sister Damien Marie will share her “reading” of some key messages from the grammar of creation and how they can help us better understand the nature of Planet Earth\, in order to heal its wounds. Time for interactive Q&A with the speaker will be provided.  Please register for this talk on www.eventbrite.com at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-grammar-of-creation-what-is-nature-speaking-to-us-are-we-listening-tickets-222689599587. DESCRIPTION:Join Jim Blackburn\, Professor in the Practice in Environmental Law at Rice University\, who will discuss his new book\, Earth Church\, which he co-authored with artist Isabelle Scurry Chapman. Earth Church is a book about Earth-based spirituality\, a subject that will become much more prominent in a future defined by a changing climate and the creation of a new economic system that is circular rather than linear. SUMMARY:Eight Crucial Years for Our Civilization
DESCRIPTION:Most people don’t realize quite how pivotal the next eight years are for the future of our climate\, our planet\, and our civilization. Join Phoebe Barnard\, lead author of the global climate action blueprint\, “World Scientists’ Warnings Into Action: Local to Global\,” with 15 top global scientists\, economists and governance specialists\, as she outlines the actions that humanity needs to take to avert our complex planetary crises by 2026\, 2030 and 2050 at six scales\, from the household and community levels to cities\, states\, nations and the UN.  What are the most important things which we can\, and must\, all do as individuals\, as communities\, in cities? These include concrete actions for energy conservation and decarbonization; for reduction of atmospheric pollutants; for nature conservation and restoration; for food systems reform\, dietary change and soil conservation; for smaller families and stabilizing and slowly reducing population; and for reform of our consumerist economy.  A summary of the paper is given in an article in The Conversation\, and the paper is open for cosignature by anyone with a degree in any kind of science at Scientists’ Warning Europe. Time for interactive discussion with the speaker will be provided.  Please register for this talk on www.eventbrite.com at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/eight-crucial-years-for-our-civilization-tickets-261427736397.
