DESCRIPTION:The Center for the Healing of Racism will hold its 23rd annual Juneteenth Ally Awards luncheon on Saturday\, June 24\, 2017.  This year’s award recipients are:\n\nDara Silverman\, who served as the founding director of Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ)\, a nationwide organization for white anti-racist allies.  Ms. Silverman has been promoting socioeconomic and racial justice for over 20 years.\nBlack Lives Matter Houston – For taking the lead in calling attention to the importance of Black lives\nUnited We Dream – For standing for the protection of Dreamers and Immigrants \nJustin Normand – Individual Initiative Award – For standing alone in calling attention to the lives of Muslims\n\nThe luncheon will be held at noon on Saturday\, June  24\, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church (Fondren Hall)\, 5501 Main Street\, Houston\, TX 77004.  Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased through the Center for the Healing of Racism.  Contact: cfhr1@juno.com or (713) 520-8226.  Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to this event to aid in our work\, if you are unable to attend.\n\nThe mission of the Center for the Healing of Racism is to facilitate the healing of racism through education and dialogue in a safe and supportive environment\, in order to empower individuals
