SUMMARY:Protest of US Obstruction of Disarmament Treaty
DESCRIPTION:The Atlantic Life Community (ALC) is organizing a protest in New York City during the 3rd Meeting of the States Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. Held at the United Nations from March 3-7\, the meeting seeks to advance global nuclear disarmament\, though nuclear armed states remain opposed. The ALC\, along side the War Resisters League and Veterans for Peace\, will protest the US Role in obstructing disarmament efforts. Catholic Worker communities are among the organizers. For more details contact Steve Baggarly of the Norfolk Catholic Worker at 757-423-5420. \n\n\n\nThis protest is on Ash Wednesday. Archbishop Wester will be offering evening mass on March 4 before he speaks to the United Nations on March 5.

DESCRIPTION:Villa Albertine’s signature evening of arts and culture marathon\, “Night of Ideas” will take place from March 27 through April 6 across 20 US cities. The event invites thought leaders\, activists\, performers\, authors\, and academics to engage the public in late-night discussions addressing major global issues. This year’s unifying theme is “Common Ground\,” prompting participants to consider how we can commit to and protect what we have in common. How can we foster authentic interpersonal connection in an increasingly digital world? In a polarized political landscape\, where are our opportunities for dialogue?
