DESCRIPTION:Scientists tell us that we must reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 (vs. a 2010 baseline)\, and that 25 – 30% of all needed emissions reductions can come from individuals/households. 50% may seem like a very high hurdle. But\, it translates to only a 10%/year reduction\, starting now. And\, you may have already made some lifestyle improvements since 2010 that reduced your emissions\, so you could already be well on your way toward the 50% reduction goal. \nParticipants in this individualized course will leave with a personal plan to achieve the 50% emissions reduction goal through targeted lifestyle improvements that will also save them money. The course was developed in response to the Walk on Earth Gently multifaith statement\, inspired by religious teachings to turn away from consumerism & to seek balanced relationships with all people and the planet. DESCRIPTION:Scientists tell us that we must reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 (vs. a 2010 baseline)\, and that 25 – 30% of all needed emissions reductions can come from individuals/households. 50% may seem like a very high hurdle. But\, it translates to only a 10%/year reduction\, starting now. And\, you may have already made some lifestyle improvements since 2010 that reduced your emissions\, so you could already be well on your way toward the 50% reduction goal. \nParticipants in this individualized course will leave with a personal plan to achieve the 50% emissions reduction goal through targeted lifestyle improvements that will also save them money. The course was developed in response to the Walk on Earth Gently multifaith statement\, inspired by religious teachings to turn away from consumerism & to seek balanced relationships with all people and the planet. SUMMARY:Networking Mixer/Social/Brunch -July 2026
DESCRIPTION:Representatives of Houston-area non-profit organizations are again invited to come to our next networking event to share what your group is doing\, and to promote your upcoming events. And you can do it while enjoying an informal brunch with each other and some of HPJC’s Board. \n\n\n\nPrevious participants have told us how they enjoyed these events and how they were glad to be able to connect with people from other organizations. \n\n\n\nThe event is free\, but we ask that you let us know by July 16 how many from your group will be coming (so we can have enough food\, tables\, and chairs for everyone)\, and if you need table space for displays or literature. Please send us an email to director@hpjc.org with that information and any questions or dietary restrictions that  you may have. \n\n\n\nThanks and we look forward to seeing you!
