SUMMARY:Coming Wars with Venezuela\, Iran\, Russia and China
DESCRIPTION:Dan Kovalik is a human rights and labor lawyer\, and his new book makes the case that the Trump/Russia scandal is a dangerous diversion that leads some progressives to agitate for war with Russia. Kovalik’s book offers history and context for the current scene and the “blame Russia” memes promoted by  the media\, based on anonymous leaks and unseen intelligence. From Vietnam to Iran/Contra\, the Iraq war and intervention in Libya\, false intelligence and spin have been used to justify illegal actions. \nKovalik notes that people–who marched against Bush’s wars–are now stoking efforts to limit Trump’s options with Russia\, and some are calling for war in response to unproven claims of cyber attacks. \nThe demonetization of Russia includes a new McCarthyism\, and PBC relates how a recent interviewer casually smeared NSA whistle blower Bill Binney as a Russian sympathizer\, because Binney argues that the breach of DNC servers was an insider leak\, not an outsider hack. \nNear the end of the interview\, Kovalik comments on the situation in Venezuela.  He will be in Caracas for the July 30 election\, and will report on it . \nForeign Policy  Domestic Political policy
