SUMMARY:Third Coast Regional Conference Citizens' Climate Lobby
DESCRIPTION: The Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) will host its sixth annual Third Coast Regional\nConference for its Texas\, Louisiana\, and Mississippi volunteers on February 9\, 2019\,\nin Houston\,Texas.  With the theme “Uniting for Climate Solutions\,” the conference is\nopen to anyone who wants to move our country towards solving climate change.\n\n  This Conference follows a major breakthrough for CCL with the introduction of the\nEnergy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act in late 2018.The bill was the result of\nyears of work by CCL volunteers across the country and stands as the first national\n\,bipartisan-cosponsored carbon pricing bill in nearly a decade.\nConference attendees will explore strategies for transforming political divisions into\nsolidarity\, be trained in how to engage Congress effectively\,and receive expert\ninstruction about carbon reduction solutions and the impacts of climate change on\nthe Gulf Coast’s economy.\n\n  Featured speakers include Sam Daley-Harris\, author of “Reclaiming Our Democracy:\nHealing the Break Between People and Government” and Mark Reynolds\, Executive\nDirector of Citizens’ Climate Lobby\, as well as other energy and carbon pricing leaders.\nAttendees receive a bonus invitation to a screening of The Human Element the Friday\nevening before the conference\, which is being presented in partnership with EarthxFilm.\nAcclaimed photographer James Balog\,who is featured in the film\,will provide a Q&A after\nthe film.\n\nCitizens’ Climate Lobby is a non-profit\,non-partisan advocacy organization focused on\na national\, legislative solution to climate change.
