SUMMARY:Creation Care Fest – Environmental Extravaganza
DESCRIPTION:Christ the King Evangelical Lutheran Church invites you to the 2016 Creation Care Fest – Environmental Extravaganza on Saturday\, Aug. 13. This year’s theme is Connections between People and Nature. This free environmental educational offering has activities for all ages.  Adults can attend interactive lectures addressing the theme by a variety of experts\, from anthropologists to zoologists.  Kids can enjoy meeting live education animals\, coloring\, seeing films\, and other fun activities.  Nursery care for kids under 5 will be provided.  Exhibits by local environmental nonprofits will offer more opportunities to learn and engage.  Featured speakers include: \nProfessor Andrea Ballestero\, Rice University\, Anthropology \nProfessor Jim Blackburn\, Rice University\, Civil and Environmental Engineering \nProfessor Scott Solomon\, Rice University\, Biosciences \nProfessor Melissa Anne Suter\, Baylor College of Medicine\, Obstetrics & Gynecology \nand a speaker from the Houston Zoo. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. with the first lecture\, and at 10 a.m. the exhibits will open and kid’s activities will begin. The event ends at 4 p.m.  Christ the King Evangelical Lutheran Church is located at the corner of Rice Blvd. and Greenbriar in Houston.  Parking is available for $1 at the Rice University lot across the street from the church.  Metro bus stops for lines 27\, 41\, 65\, and 84 are nearby.
