Report (and call to action) by Michael Allen:
We are End Mass Incarceration Houston and we are the voice of the silent ones. We speak for those silenced by the state and for those too afraid or too confused to speak against government oppression. Currently, we are working with the Carrizo/Comecrudo Tribe of Texas and with Camps-a-Rising of Wisconsin and have set up two camps in Texas to fight the construction of the border wall in the Rio Grande Valley.
The Carrizo/Comecrudo Tribe of Texas brings historic tribal knowledge of the area and provides our basic leadership in this cause, as they continue to fight against injustice at the border and the ongoing genocidal war against their tribe. Camps-a-Rising brings with them the knowledge and equipment necessary to organize and maintain a comfortable and livable camp environment complete with solar powered electricity and hot and cold running water. Our part in this is to provide food and perishable commodities such as water, propane gas, gasoline and batteries.
We have worked together nearly seamlessly for two months to build our main base camp south of San Antonio to greet newcomers and to stage our supplies as well as to establish our first border camp in Mission, Texas, on the path of the wall. Land has been procured to set up an additional camp in anticipation of the late February onset of construction. We will establish a third camp there soon and around the second week of February we will call down activists from all parts of Texas and the country to join us. Please help us to be ready when that time comes and when the ‘call out’ comes please join us on the Frontline and lend your voice to ours as we speak up for Peace, for Freedom and for Justice!
‘If there is no justice for the people, let there be no peace for the government.’ –Emiliano Zapata
