Super Bowl Weekend – Resist Trump Resist Hate
February 4, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The pledge of allegiance states that we as a country are “one nation, indivisible” yet our elected president Donald Trump has continuously introduced policies that are dividing us as a nation. We must let him know that we as the MAJORITY do not agree with his hateful rhetoric. His idea of America is not our idea of America.
All eyes will be on Houston this weekend for the Super Bowl and this is the perfect time to show the President Trump and Congress that we do not agree with the direction they are taking our country.
So bring your signs and let’s exercise our First Amendment Rights and show what Houston is made of!
Event Details:
3:00 pm meet-up at City Hall. We will march from City Hall to Minute Maid Park and finally end up at Discovery Green on the street Avienda De Las Americas.
Transportation Options:
2:00 pm I will be at the Park and Ride Post Oak location. The bus leaves at 2:15 pm and we will take bus #161 to get to City Hall. The fare is $1.25 there and $1.25 back so $2.50 roundtrip.
Remember:
This is a peaceful protest. Please no aggressive actions. We can get our message across with numbers and signs and by voting next year.
Since this is NOT a permitted event we must stick to the sidewalks. A map will be posted by Friday of the marching route.
Also please join the group Resist! Houston to keep up to date of local meetups, protests and events in Houston.
