July 25 is the annual International Day of Solidarity with Anti-Fascist Prisoners!
July 20-27 is a week of solidarity with the 214 defendants each facing 8 felony charges and 75 years in federal prison stemming from resistance to Trump’s inauguration on January 20 (J20).
One of the defendants, Dane Powell, was recently sentence to 4 months in prison, and many others are having an important court hearing on July 27 at which the judge will rule on motions to dismiss the charges.
The issues of fascism and political repression are deeply intertwined. This event will explore these connections, recent trends in far-right activity and state repression, and strategies for fighting back.
We’ll have a couple short films, discussion, snacks, and send some cards to prisoners.
