Houston Peace and Justice Center will match all donations up to $800 to send young adults ages 20-32, to the School of the Americas Watch in Nogales, AZ from October 7-10th. Every little bit helps. Please donate securely below!
Campaign Nonviolence-Houston is partnering with CODEPINK: Women for Peace, and Veterans For Peace to organize and lead this Young Adult delegation. They wish to take young adults, primarily young adults of color and other marginalized communities, to the School of the Americas Watch “convergence on the border,” in order to build awareness of the need for intersectionality and intergenerational movements. We cannot build a culture of peace and inclusion if our movements are segregated by age or privileged status. The delegates will attend workshops to gain education on different issues such as militarism, racism, the refugee crisis and the need for compassionate immigration reform. We also will participate in trainings, and nonviolent direct action.
Your tax deductible donation helps pay for travel and promotion of this important organizing opportunity. For more info on the School of the Americas Watch please visit SOAW.org/Border and for more info on Campaign Nonviolence-Houston visit Facebook.com/CNVhou1
