Robert Jensen’s “Plain Radical” Book Salon
October 15, 2016 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
University of Texas professor Robert Jensen will discuss his book Plain Radical: Living, Loving, and Learning to Leave the Planet Gracefully at the home of Houston house concert promoter Jeff Abrams.
Jensen’s book chronicles his personal, political, and intellectual life with friend and mentor Jim Koplin, who blended the best of rural traditions with a relentless radical critique of concentrated power and illegitimate authority.
Jensen is the author of seven other books, including Arguing for Our Lives: A User’s Guide to Constructive Dialogueand The Heart of Whiteness: Confronting Race, Racism and White Privilege.
The conversation is free and open to the public.
That evening, Abrams will present a concert by Jensen’s wife, Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Eliza Gilkyson.
For more information on the book event or for tickets to the Gilkyson concert, contact Jeff Abrams, (713) 817-0001 or [email protected].
