Conflict Transformation and Nonviolent Communication Workshop

December 17, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free
Join Ethan Hughes of the Possibility Alliance for a 2 hour workshop on Conflict Transformation and Nonviolent Communication.  Ethan has studied NVC for many years and practices it daily at his permaculture homestead.  He has organized and been part of restorative circles, and notes that his community wouldn’t exist without them.
This class will focus on NVC in group situations like Food Not Bombs.  What approach can be taken when someone in like cuts and a fight breaks out?  What if someone wants to call the police for a non-emergency?  How can we understand peoples motivations and what drives them to anger and aggression?
The Possibility Alliance is an 80-acre nonviolent and permaculture land-based community in La Plata Missouri.  They live without electricity, grow most of their own food, and commute by bike as much as possible.  They also participate in Superhero rides, where they do random acts of kindness in neighboring cities and towns.
