Join Restorative Houston for our Happy Hour Gala on Thursday, November 19 during International Restorative Justice Week. Inspired by Dr. Arelia Johnson’s focus on joy as strategy, the theme is “Joy and Justice.”
We’re bringing together donors, practitioners, apprentices and community partners to share light bites, connect, and celebrate the growing movement for community rooted justice in Houston. Dress code is JOYFUL and snazzy!
We will have featured auction items, a pop up shop from Kendra Scott, selfie photo booth, and a DJ!
We are honored to feature nationally recognized restorative justice practitioner, author, and trainer Felix Rosado as our keynote speaker. Felix co‑founded Let’s Circle Up, a restorative justice project created inside Graterford State Prison, where he spent 27 years leading peace‑building and anti‑violence initiatives before receiving executive clemency in 2022. During his incarceration, he earned a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and helped build one of the country’s most innovative inside‑led restorative justice programs.
Now living in Philadelphia, Felix serves as Executive Director of Let’s Circle Up and teaches at Chestnut Hill College and the Community College of Philadelphia. He is the author of Justice from the Inside Up: A Restorative Justice Education Facilitator’s Manual, a foundational text for practitioners across the country.
About Restorative Houston:
Through our Peacemaker Apprenticeship, we train youth and adults to facilitate restorative circles, earn certification, and join a citywide network of community based practitioners who help build community, interrupt conflict, and support healing after harm.
Our work extends into schools, neighborhoods, and the criminal legal system, where we build belonging, strengthen emotional wellness, and equip communities with the skills to connect, address harm and navigate difficult conversations.
