Are you having trouble quieting the noise around you? Step into a morning of music and poetry that invites stillness, reflection, and peace,
Join us for a contemplative morning of music and poetry, presented in collaboration with Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) Houston. This special gathering will weave together the rich traditions of Indian classical music and the powerful voices of local poets, offering a space for reflection, connection, and peace.
Join us for this moving celebration of peace, where music and poetry converge to honor the spirit of the day.
The program will feature the internationally acclaimed Aditya Prakash Ensemble, bringing the depth and beauty of Karnatik music—a South Indian tradition rooted in the intricate interplay of Raga (melody), Tala (rhythm), and Sahitya (lyrics). With Aditya Prakash on vocals, Sruti Sarathy on violin, and Rohan Krishnamurthy on mridangam, the ensemble will share a dynamic blend of traditional repertoire, contemporary interpretations, and spontaneous improvisations—an experience both timeless and rare in Karnatik performance.
Adding to this atmosphere of peace and creativity, we will also hear original poetry from Houston Poet Laureate Reyes Ramirez and young voices from The Fay School, whose words will invite us to reflect on unity, harmony, and hope.
Pay what you can, $15 – $25
