Tim Wise Honored at Annual Juneteenth Ally Award Luncheon

Tim Wise, one of the country’s leading anti-racism writers and educators, will deliver the keynote address at The Center for the Healing of Racism’s Annual Ally Award Luncheon on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 12 noon, St. Paul Methodist Church, Fondren Hall, 5501 Main Street, Houston, TX 77004.  

 

The author of seven books on race and racism, Wise is a popular speaker at venues across the United States, on television, radio and podcasts.  He will be joined by two other Award recipients, Houston’s SHAPE Community Center, which has worked to improve he quality of life for Houston’s African American community for the past 50 years, and Maya Ford, who will receive an Individual Initiative Award for her courage to sit in silence alone in the parking lot of a detention center for migrant children and families.
