Transition Houston Meeting: Complete Communities

Join us at our upcoming Transition Houston meeting!
Socializing starts at 6:30pm and the meeting begins at 7:00pm at the Haven’s Center, 1827 W Alabama St, Houston, TX 77098.
At this month’s meeting, Misty Staunton, the Team Lead for Houston’s Second Ward, will be presenting Complete Communities which is about improving neighborhoods so that all of Houston’s residents and business owners can have access to quality services and amenities while ensuring existing residents can stay in homes that remain affordable.
The draft tables of goals, projects, and partners include seeding new parks, improve and expand existing parks, create housing for all focused on affordable housing, new senior housing and expanding home ownership. More details about the initiative are available using this link.
The Complete Communities Planning Process is designed to create an Action Plan that will guide how communities and their partners will reach their goals. This collaborative community-driven method will achieve consensus on a vision and goals, identify projects and strategies, set priorities, engage partners, create benchmarks to measure success over time and adopt the Action Plan. The final step is to implement the goals that completes the community’s vision.
