Transition Houston Meeting! Tuesday, August 2nd – Growing Food in Uncommon Places

August 2, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Do you or someone you know live in a food desert? How can we bring quality food to our communities?

Join us to learn more about Rob Finley, a Guerrilla Gardener who serves the community by teaching people the power of growing your own food.

We’ll also hear how youth from Houston’s East End Green Belt Conservation Corps are making a difference locally! They’ve planted over 100 fruit trees and in association with Houston Parks and Recreation, will be breaking ground on a community garden in Herman Brown Park to bring quality food to our Houston communities which serves as a catalyst for good nutrition and encouraging community development.

Guests will include Gary Edmondson, former Director of Education for Urban Harvest and one, if not more, East End crusaders.

You’ll have opportunities to participate! Transition will be planning a Permablitz in the fall to help them build their community garden!
