Mayor Sylvester Turner’s Annual Acres Homes Juneteenth Parade on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
The parade will begin at the Acres Homes Multi-Service Center located at 6719 W. Montgomery, travel north on W. Montgomery, west on Dolly Wright and conclude at Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church located at 1620 Dolly Wright.
2018 marks 40 Years of Pride in the city of Houston. Join us in Downtown Houston where our very own "Stonewall" occurred in 1977 as thousands protested against Anita Bryant's anti-gay campaign.
This event is ADMISSION FREE and open to the public to attend/watch and open to the public (no age limit). No tickets are necessary except for the VIP Parade area. There are no tickets necessary for general admission.

We are heading to Ursula CBP detention facility in McAllen, Texas to bear witness to a system that has for too long ignored the basic needs of migrant children in immigration detention.

Celebrating! its 25th Anniversary, the MLK Grande Parade is the third largest Parade in the U.S. behind The Rose Parade and The Macy’s Day Parade. During The Annual MLK Grande Parade, 300,000 Spectators are expected and has a Viewing Audience of more than 4,000,000. The Annual MLK Grande Parade parade consists of 15 Parade floats & 30 Marching bands.

Together, we will build solidarity across our differences to honor the legacy of all working people in continuing to fight for immigrant, racial, economic, and environmental justice in a system that puts profit over people.
We live in a city where asylum seekers are being kept in detention centers, one of which lies just outside Downtown and is housing teenagers indefinitely. These centers are run by the Southwest Key Programs, whose leaders are profiting off of the detainment of children and have yet to share adequate information about the conditions in these centers. We, as Houstonians, are obligated to come together to stand with the migrants in our city and call out maltreatment of migrants when it occurs.
The rally will be held on Saturday September 14, tentatively from 5:30-8:30pm at the Casa Sunzal detention center (419 Emancipation Ave). We will meet at Settegast Park (3000 Garrow St) at 5:30pm and walk for about 5-10 minutes to the detention center.
