ON THE FRINGE Book Club

On the Fringe was created as a response to the current political climate.

On the Fringe is a social gathering that happens every other month focused on discussing books and related content pertaining to social justice, humanitarian crises, and other issues that remain “on the fringe” of the concerns of mainstream society.

Our fourth meeting will focus on the topic of Immigration.

We will be discussing The Good Immigrant edited by Nikesh Shukla.

Please bring an appetizer or beverage to share! Also, feel free to share this information with those you think would have an interest in the topic.

For this interdisciplinary performance, Ensemble Pi presents music, text, and theater works that focus on the rise of mass incarceration, the racial disparities it reveals, and the emotional toll it takes on inmates and their families. The concert opens with Rzewski’s minimalist masterpiece, Coming Together, composed in the wake of the 1971 prison riots in upstate New York and powerfully expressing the frustration of life behind bars and anger about injustice.
