Houston Rapid Response Network Training

Houston Mennonite Church 1231 Wirt Rd., Houston, TX, United States

The Houston Rapid Response Network is a group of people on-call to show up for people and families impacted by current anti-immigration laws. The training will review actions to help counteract deportation and the splitting up of families in our state. The training also covers how documented allies can play both small and large roles in the network and how all of us together can show up in solidarity with the undocumented and migrant people in our community.

Join Reginald Moore and the Convict Leasing and Labor Project for a community meeting about the future of the #SugarLand95. The CLLP and the National Black United Front of Houston strongly believe the remains should be reburied in the sacred ground where they were found. Fort Bend ISD is doing everything it can to block that from happening.

We need to show FBISD, Houston and the world this isn't just a "black" issue. They can't just plan a quick "Black History Month" presentation and be done with it. This is one of the most important local issues of our time and the outcome is going to shape our awareness of racial history for decades to come.

Showing up for Racial Justice (SURJ HTX) invites you to learn how to join and unite with the Native Original Tribe of Texas in a respectful way in the massive efforts to protect our state from environmental and political destruction. The Carrizo/Comecrudo Tribe is repopulating a network of frontline encampments on their ancient village sites, protecting indigenous sacred sites, resisting construction of the LNG (fracked gas) terminals and their source of pipelines for more fracked gas, and educating people about the environmental devastation the Border Wall will cause. They are peacefully struggling to stop the senseless endangerment of people, animals our only environment and for a rapid equitable transition to sustainable/renewable natural ways of life to secure a future for all children and our future generations.
