Houston, TX – (February 13, 2017) – Most years, this weekend would be dedicated to the power of the President. This year on Sunday, February 19, “We the People Connect the Dots” march against tyranny and ongoing attacks on social justice and civil rights.

Instead of honoring our current President on this holiday, we honor the American people and the values that hundreds of thousands of us are fighting for. We are democracy. We are patriots. We are America.” states the membership of Indivisible Houston.

The March will begin at 3:00 PM with speakers from diverse advocacy groups united by those interconnected issues and articulating true American values.

Where are we with Climate Change—is Houston threatened? It’s been a decade since An Inconvenient Truth. What is the current truth? Is anything less convenient here, other than massive flooding? John Nielsen-Gammon, the State Climatologist of Texas, will update us for the first hour on the climate data in the past ten years and how that is impacting Houston. Then three speakers will present current slides from the Climate Reality Project, an organization dedicated to catalyzing a global solution to the climate crisis, partnering with US Green Building Council.

Join RAWtools, The Peace Pastor Marty Troyer, Texas Gun Sense and others on Friday, March 10th at 6:45pm as we turn guns into garden tools and learn of a 3rd way of addressing gun violence.

RAWtools, Inc. gets its scriptural motivation from Isaiah 2:4 and Micah 4:3. We want to be comprehensive in our efforts to move our communities away from gun violence and violence as a whole. Its not enough to just make a lot of tools from guns. We need to help teach each other new ways to solve our problems through relationship, dialogue, and alternative means of justice, i.e. Restorative Justice practices and victim-offender dialogue.

Two Rivers Camp: Spring Break Caravan

The Society of Native Nations, Big Bend Defense Coalition, and others resisting the Trans Pecos Pipeline near Big Bend. The Two Rivers Camp is setup near Marfa Texas and has been carrying out direct actions for a few weeks, as part of a larger 2 year resistance against the pipeline.

This is the last stand, as the pipeline is scheduled to be complete by the end of the first quarter of 2017. As an elder said, even stopping the last connecting 10 feet is stopping the pipeline.
