RAWtools, Inc. gets its scriptural motivation from Isaiah 2:4 and Micah 4:3. We want to be comprehensive in our efforts to move our communities away from gun violence and violence as a whole. Its not enough to just make a lot of tools from guns. We need to help teach each other new ways to solve our problems through relationship, dialogue, and alternative means of justice, i.e. Restorative Justice practices and victim-offender dialogue.
This is the 2017 Pax Christi Texas State Conference. Our guest speaker this year will be Marie Dennis, Co-Director of Pax Christi International. She will describe her experience at the 2016 Vatican Conference on nonviolence. Marie will be speaking about a new global initiative reaffirming the centrality of active nonviolence to the vision and message of Jesus to the life of the Catholic Church, and to the long-term vocation of healing and reconciling both people and the planet.

The Society of Native Nations, Big Bend Defense Coalition, and others resisting the Trans Pecos Pipeline near Big Bend. The Two Rivers Camp is setup near Marfa Texas and has been carrying out direct actions for a few weeks, as part of a larger 2 year resistance against the pipeline.
This is the last stand, as the pipeline is scheduled to be complete by the end of the first quarter of 2017. As an elder said, even stopping the last connecting 10 feet is stopping the pipeline.

Grassroots citizens from Harris County and areas across the great state of Texas will hold a rally on April 8th, at 1:00 p.m. at Moody Park in Houston, Texas. The rally will focus on defending American healthcare for all citizens and protecting immigrant communities from fire in United States. It will feature speakers and organizations in a united coalition against the discriminatory immigration policies and draconian healthcare proposals currently sitting in queue in the United States Congress and the White House. Speakers will include both elected officials from around the state and individual citizens with stories to share on their experiences with immigration and healthcare issues.

We will gather from 6-6:30 for snack and a brief lecture on why Houstonians should be concerned about drones, what we can do to resist drone warfare in our communities, and what our next steps will be to build a movement against drones in Houston. At 6:30 we will begin screening the documentary UNMANNED: US Drone Wars followed by a brief time to network.

The annual Good Friday "Walk for Justice", sponsored by Pax Christi, will take place on Friday, April 14. Gather at 12 noon at the reflecting pool in front of City Hall in downtown Houston. Many different peace and social justice issues are addressed in the Walk for Justice. All are welcome.
